Dr. Luhong Liang is Associate Professor of the
Institute of Computing Technology (ICT),
Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, P.R.China. He is also
staff member of the
joint research&development lab (JDL)
and manager of Codec Research Group, National
Engineering Lab. for Digital Video Technology (NELVT).
Dr. Liang received
his Bachelor degree in 1997 and his Ph.D. degree in 2001,
all in
computer science from
Tsinghua University.
From 2001 to 2007, He worked as senior researcher and staff
researcher at Intel China Research Center
(ICRC),
leading research projects on multimodal HCI, audio-video
platform, GPU architecture & application, etc. He won
two Division Recognition Awards for his contributions to HCI
and platform technologies at Intel. From 2008, he is
Associate Professor of
ICT and conducts research
on video coding, computer vision and pattern
recognition, as well as coding standard and engineering.
From 2009, he also works as manager of Codec Research Group
in
NELVT, taking charge
of key technology R&D and prototyping for
AVS.
Dr. Liang has
more than 30 publications in conferences and journals, 9
U.S. patents (including 4 issued patents) and 2 China
patents related to video technology.
